today,,, not my best shining point

Jacob with Salome, and Sophia
Mark Hannah, Sophia, and Salome

Hannah with Nathan the ski instructor.. a great photo, as I was chin planted in the snow at the time, so was just at the right height

Had a ski lesson today.. Hannah and I were booked in for 5 days..

Hannah will go for 4 more.

so head down early to get boots skis and helmuts,

up the mountain, off we go,

Hannah and I had a private lesson todagether, with Nathan, a tall dark Amrican 25 yr old from Boston..

I HATE IT

I dont like skiing,

I dont like the feeling, I dont like sliding,it scares me, I dont like the whole business , I dont like the other skiers, I dont like the whole system, I hate sliding, I shat myself going snow plough down a run.
So,
we took my boots, skis, poles back to the shop
I am not skiing anymore
Everyone will be happier with this decision
Hannah did well, so she will go back.
Jacob had a snowboard lesson and the girl who was his instructor was really really pleased with him, so he may only need one tomorrow, then in the afternoon, Mark wants to ski with the kids over the French border, and such for 4 hours...
Mark skiied with Oscar, Caroline and the girls.. They are still all up the mountain.. the Smiths came home

Mark is sick. as in talk out loud in your sleep sick.

He came down the mountain with us, and is asleep on the couch.. He has chills and a fever, so he was OK with having just a half day today and sleeping it off.

He wants to feel better for the rest of the week.

Lifestyles of the Rich and Shamless!! The photo's are stunning...we are so envious, sounds like you're having a ball. Kahn is chomping to join Jake on the slopes, can you imagine them?? I'm all for plenty of Apres Skiing...much safer. Hope Mark feels better soon. Love to all Kate and Boys xx

Jake is loving the lessons, loving them. Mark and Jake have skiied off to Les Crossets(?) for the afternoon. Hannah and I have come home for some lunch and a chill out, Then we search for the perfect Hot Chocolate

I'm with you, Ruth. I was never into downhill skiing at all. Hated it with the intensity of dreading a tetanus shot. Much better at reading in the lodge with a drink.

But, is there a cross-country skiing option? For me, that's a completely different experience. Fewer people, more control, slower pace.
