I just tried to work it out.
we are walking around 20,000 steps a day, about 13 kilometres a day..
Jacob is in a deep sleep right now, still has a bad cold so we have organised a late chekout, so we may not get to London till late afternoon.
the weather has been incredibly good, looking at 13 again today, sunny and cloudy, chilly winds, but touch wood, no rain..
lots of news on the bad economy.
MFI closed yesterday, a sort of Bunnings Home depot sort of place.
Woolworths close on the 2nd January
I watched an interesting Doc last night on the BBC1 about the change of capitalism.. 25% of the total GDP is taxpayers money. Companies being bailed out around the globe by governments, will need to be answerable to the taxpayer, not just the shareholder, and this will change the spend..
The US was pretty scary
If you lose your job in NY, and 10,000 a week are being laid off, then you have about 3 weeks of affordable survival in NY, they say, due to the cost of rents, the cost of living, and the lack of opportunity now, with the down turn..
the news here this morning is repeating over and over that retailers are asking buyers to get out this weekend, this last weekend of potential shopping, and spend to ty and aid some sort of recovery..
Its pretty depressing across the place
we went to John Lewis dept store, and no one was there, no one.
and this is a week before Christmas???
People are saying that the markets in St Albans were deserted and this is usually the time that you cannot get a park, cannot move.
Having said that, the sales are pathetic, so you wonder how serious they are
a woollen jumper in John Lewis was reduced from 60 pounds to 58.50 pounds.. whoo hoo!!
the best news is, that the Royle Family has a christmas special on Christmas night
""The Royle Family Christmas: the new sofa""
"Because Christmas is not for children issit?"
