Last day in Champrey

Mark and the kids headed off to Avoriaz today, and had lunch there, came home after 4pm.
Oscar, Caro and Family headed off for snowboarding lessons.. I drove down the mountain to a town called Monthey in the valley, to the Mall, to buy Hannahs gifts for later this week.
I did well, bought some cool things, some funny things, lots of little things, so I think she will have a happy day.
We usually take them to the Marriot on their birthday, so we will find somewhere in Venice.
She wants Pizza for dinner,
I walked around the Mall, but didnt see much... The fashions are pretty gorgeous, greys blacks, creams, cashmere is big, jeans are all very tight legged, leggings and boots are huge, scarves are in mustard, creme, grey etc,, boots are fabulous.
I liked seeing all that.
There is a lot of mink, and fur, everywhere , boots are all lined in fur, and lower heeled, I guess due to the fact you are walking in Ice snow and sludge.
Some incredible looking men and women, splattered around, and also some real mountaineers in there as well.
Then back up the mountain in peak hour traffic(the Saturday is the day for changeover of chalets, so everyone is leaving or arriving) and cooked Spaghetti Bolognaise for the kids.
Seriously, when you have an Italian in the house who cooks like a chef, you have a tough audience)
We are off into the village the Le Farinet, a really old restaurant that cook Raclette for dinner, and charbonade, the really finely sliced beef cooked at your table.
Its been a great week, just fantastic.
to be able to pick up 15 years later, and laugh so much my face hurts, walk around town stopping for a drink, wandering, long dinners, good laughs.
Brilliant, just brilliant.
we have a sin box for her daughters saying quoi?
which means "why" because they say it over and over, sort of like "like"
this will pay for their trip out here next year, or 2011..
So,
Tomorrow we go back to Geneve for the night, to Caro's
I dont think we can get online there.. Oscar has a firewall to match Mainland China..
More at Italy

Happy to hear that Mark is back in the saddle.
Do get that recipe for Rissoto, it sounds like it might go down great with a pie & beer once you are back in Oz.

Onions, chopped, cook in butter for 5 mins, then rice, no water , cook for 4 mins to sweat it,then a glass of white wine, after one min add saffron then chicken stock slowly, a little bit, little bit for one litre
wait 2 mins when finished
then add butter and parmagiano
(quoted word for word from the chef himself)
