We got up early, had breakfast at the hotel, then went into town on the bus.
It was such a great day, actually had jackets unzipped, no gloves.. whoo hoo.
Rome is stunning, busy, mad, but gorgeous! Tourist numbers are way way down. We didnt queue for anything, which is unusual for this time of year, especially a weekend where the weather is so good.
So, we had an audio tour of the Forum and Palatine area, then joined a guided tour of the Colloseum, which was excellent.
Lunched, walked, walked, walked.. Mark thinks we walked about 15 km today..
we walked into a big demonstration that sort of took over the town.. Police, choppers, armed soldier types, the lot... managed to cut through that and out of that without losing a child..
Finally back to the hotel, dinner, and now watching German MTV..
Hannah and Jake have a hotel room down the corridor, and have finally gone to bed.
its 9.30, legs are sore
I dont know why or how, but girl child tripped just as this pic was taken, but its still quite a good one

How comes youse didn't join the protests? It could have been quite educational for the kids , and the cause was on the right side of polotics for once. Besides, I just love those red and white Palestinian scarves, they give that instant sort of Arafat-sex-appeal.
Keep on eating though guys, as either the lense on your camera is tight, or you are all losing wieght--- Mark looks even taller, and Ruth has that 'Joanne Lumley' look from the New Avengers.... "Call me Purdey, big boy!"
The cat is still alive and well and peeing in Scooby's bed,
