This is brilliant.
the weather is great, kids are over their colds.. still snotty, but no fevers, so thats a good thing.
We started the day packing up, and met Simons Mum Pat, who came back to Sandras with us.. then we went next door to meet the neighbours, for a cup of tea, Pat and Sonny, and they showed us how to work the house, as we will be staying there when we get back from London...
then finally packed up, and started to head down..
We are staying in Sandras friends Michaels flat in Binney st, one street back from Oxford St in Mayfair.. its gorgeous. Just gorgeous. He must be the tidiest, neatest person I have not met!
The flat is beautiful, with clear glass leadlight over every door, high ceilings, and so organised....
We got on the train from Digswell, and came into Kings Cross station, and they have the station 93/4 from Harry Potter on the wall.. took the obligatory photos, then got Oyster travel cards, for the Tube and buses, and headed off to Mayfair on the bus. Then we went off for dinner/late lunch to the Eathai restaurant and finally ate.
then we settled the kids, and Sandra caught the train home, Molly, Simon and Sandras little girl is staying down with us, and Sandra and Simon will come back down tomorrow for the day.
So we need to work out what to do tomorrow. I have to buy another sweater. For Geneva. I managed to give a creme Country Road one away to Sandra, as its a pain, as it is too big and too heavy, and I think I have the layer thing sorted out now
the temperature is really really mild, about 9 degrees out there tonight, and clear.
We have been lucky with that..
so some pics of London

Great news about the necklace...prised from the cold, dead fingers of some housekeeper I hope! For once the Pom's have the weather sorted..great
Yes, it was good news.. I did get stressed over it. More from the frustration of KNOWING Mark had put it on the bed before we left the room, and there was no way it was not there when we left. But better it happened there, where we have 10 days in the UK, and were not racing off for a flight, or something.. then we could have kissed it goodbye
