5 days now, and alls smooth sailing, so far. Jake is talking too much, if we walk 19,000 steps, then that boy is walking 30,000! seriosuly, its like a border collie on a walk through a park, back forward, back, forward, climb, jump.talk talk talk talk...
But if thats the worst of it, then all is fine. and thats it. Hannah has been a model prisoner, no one has lost anything, not even a glove, everyone is repacking their gear, keeping an eye on their things, so its been a really good start.
Early days.
we headed down town to post some things off, which was a day out on its own! finally done, and caught the Cable car down to the Fishermans Wharf, as Jake wanted to go on a Trampoline thin, and I wanted some chowder as I was cold.and went on a tour of San Francisco. If it is possible, we had the crankiest meanest tour driver. there was only 6 of us, so I think he worked out the potential tips, and decided it wasnt worth being at all nice.
Anyway.
the Golden Gate bridge is amazingly cold and windy.and really impressive .. pretty spectacular..In fact is was a cold cold tour as it was an open bus which might be why there was only us and 2 Italian women in red hats.
Mark and jake went looking in a submarine for 2 hours while Hannah and I pulled up 2 overstuffed orange armchairs in an overheated Starbucks, drinking hot chocolates, playing "freak or Unique?" with the crowds walking past outside,
the icerink in Union Square was closed for a Private function by the time we got back, so another night of no skating, but we went to see Twilight instead.Wwow. If you dont have a teenage daughter who has read the book 3 times, and wanted to see it before the Australian release date, then I strongly suggest that slicing your tongue with a fork may be more pleasurable.
a trip to Borders for the kids... $5 for each book that costs about $18.99 at home, thats wrong,
then to Vitos Italian restaurant for the best Ravioli Marinarafor a long long time.
now its Midnight,
Mark is getting a PEDI-EGG foot shaving dead skin machine for Christmas. the one you can see all the shavings from your feet?
Payback for telling the kids I wanted a horrible money clip being sold on the shopping channel.

take a blunt knife as well...seriously overhung with teen angst, long knowing looks of first love, and a touch of darkness, lots of gasping of breath.
