Right now we are all sitting in the hotel rom, in the summer clothes we packed for Singapore.
Everything else is in the big laundrey in the basement being washed and dried!
Feeling stupid indeed. But should be all dry in another 2 hours .

we caught the bus across the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito today, had lunch, and then wandered, and back on the ferry to SF in the afternoon Took the trolley car to Union Square and the kids went iceskating. Mark spoke to a man, who has been out of work for 3 months and has a Mortgage that he cant pay ,of over $7,000 a mont, with 3 children. he said he knows many more in the same boat.
I spoke to Steve the HIV + organiser of HIV week, who is collecting volunteers for weekend work... I bought him a coffee, sat at the rink, chatted, he is not responding to the cocktails anymore, has some shocking fungal blood thing happening, and cant afford treatment, so he is keeping his friends close, and doing anything to not sit at home and stare at a wall. That was such a good hour, of good laughs. we have both been married for 15 years. LOL, Next time he is marrying a diver, he said as he likes his space.
Once the kids finished we went to China Town, and had dinner there, then walked home.
Dont take that last line lightly.
The hills here are so so steep.
this place is not for the weak, believe me. I almost took the skin off my nose from the pavement it was so steep.
and there are miles and miles of them. hundreds of hills, and we walked up all of them over the past 5 days, but I only remember walking down one.
I fell over when I got out of bed this morning, as the back of my calves had contracted up into my thighs.
OK
so,
Now we pack, get properly organised.
the lessons learnt so far
1. all chargers together
2. all toiletries together.
3. keep all your own clothes in your own bag.
4. trust Jacob
5. Double check everything Hannah says when it comes to packing
Carry all heavy winter gear

*chuckle* Welcome to NY. We are about 10 degrees colder up here than NYC and we are expecting 7 inches of snow.

Hi Guys.

Thought of you whilst Brumiges and us were on Cabarita beach this afternoon, drinking Coronasin 22 degrees water. We had ice cream and let it melt into our navels.
Glad to see you enjoying the big chill.
Globetrotters you, Simon.

P.S.
Both Katja and I have stood on the same rocks that Jacob was on his picture in New York. (Glad to see that Fabian's ex-Jacket is getting a workout)
I also remember being Jacob's age when I sat on Alice in Wonderland's copper statue in Central park. It was a million degrees in July,Leo Sayer blarred out of the N.Y. radios and I burnt my ass something rotten....
