We got on the train and went to San Jose today to meet Marks Cousin Doreen her husband Andy and the boys, Alex and Sean. It was a really nice day... lovely town, everyone is into their Christmas lights so tonight we walked around their neighbourhood, they have carols blaring out of garages and put the best of designs back home to shame.. total overkill!
I then took a pic of their neighbors all dressed up in their Santa hats decorating their tree in the front window.
We just dont try hard enough
then on the train back to town.
there is an area of town called Tenderloin, which is basically some big social experiment... all the charities and food kitchens and shelter housing were moved there by the City, to keep it in one area, its is overcrowded, huge.
Now, other cities in the State give their homeless free tickets to SF to Tenderloin, to get them out of their cities, and with the current economic issues, it is stretched to the breaking point.
Its now Midnight, and off tomorrow on some tours, to Alcatraz, and Muirs Woods, and Fishermans wharf.
So far so good. Slept 12 hours last night, so hopefully in the zone now.
