New Years Day

Hannah after lunch with my hat on to cut out the glare, having a nap
Mark and Jake on the slopes

Me doing what I do best.. the whole Apres Ski thing, during the day

The neighbours fireworks last night...Everyone is setting them off, as you can buy them over the counter

Mark on the Chairlift

Just some beautiful scenery

Its been a fantastic day again! This is like being in Fairyland.. they got 70 centimetres of snow last night up the mountain, and we were up there early, as Mark is almost back on full steam.

Up the mountain, and everyone headed off to lessons, or France or Avoriaz...I walked a kilometre down hill to the restaurant, found the deckchairs, took off my coat, and read my book, and took pictures. Its so beautiful, its hard to capture its immensity, and perfectness.

Mark and Jake headed off together, but came back a few times, and then we bought some baguettes and a Pizza for lunch and Caro and Oscar met up with us for lunch.

Then we all sat there in the sun, watching the world go by, such a great way to spend New Year..

Then I had a kilometre up hill walk in knee high snow, and my calves were burning..Its been about a week since we have really done any serious walking, but Venice will change that.

I booked 3 days at a B&B called Al Teatro, on wotif.com next to The Piazzo San Marco, on a Canal, so that is all sorted.

OK.

Then back to the chalet, and Hannah went to bed for a few hours.. Big night last night..
Mark and Jake skiied longer,

the view looking up our street to the High St.

Then home, up to town for a walk, bought Mark a new Sweater, and some fuel for Oscar as he was making a Fondue for dinner and a Chocolate gateau

Such a good night, with fondue, hot tea, salamis, Proscuitto, and some good laughs..

Tomorrow, its the same.

Kids are skiing, Hannah is doing brilliantly now on skis, so Mark will take the kids to France for a big ski,

Ok,
the obligatory pics

Happy Happy Happy...
Lovely pics, Does this hat make my butt look big?

Had a couple of lovely evenings with Geoff and Annabell,
NYE. down at Paradies Point, the place was packed.

We oldies went home after the 9.30 Fireworks, leaving fabian to party on with Ken, Sue and the Barr family until the rum ran out. He then spent the night with Lucy and Josh, Katja and I were snoring by ten thirty... The state of things to come!!!
Happy Naughty Nines All,
Dough boy and Krautgirl.

Sounds like a good night for all.
Its tough when the kids outlast us. Hannah and Jake are almost in comas tonight after 6 hours of solid skiing..
Last day tomorrow, everyone skiing off to France again.
I shall chill out, go to the high st, and down to Monthey to buy Hannah some Birthday gifts...
She is 14 in 4 days, can you believe it?
